This week, attention shifts to the US, UK and Japan interest-rate decisions<\/strong>, alongside inflation data, Treasury yields, Middle East tensions, oil prices and technology stocks, which could drive significant volatility across financial markets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, USD\/JPY was the weakest pair<\/strong>, falling from around 156.25 to 153.62<\/strong>, losing 263 pips (-1.68%)<\/strong>, as expectations of further BoJ tightening, possible intervention and yen repatriation flows strengthened the Japanese yen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Metals:<\/strong> Gold was the strongest major precious metal<\/strong>, although it still declined from $4,405.07 to $4,348.72<\/strong>, losing $56.35 (-1.28%)<\/strong> or approximately 564 pips<\/strong>, as rising Treasury yields and stronger expectations for a September Fed rate hike outweighed safe-haven demand. Palladium was the weakest<\/strong>, falling from $1,393.42 to $1,303.39<\/strong>, losing $90.03 (-6.46%)<\/strong> or approximately 900 pips<\/strong>, amid the broader precious-metals selloff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Energy:<\/strong> Brent was the strongest major energy instrument<\/strong>, rising from around $97.5\u2013$97.9 to $107.5<\/strong>, gaining roughly $9.6\u2013$10.0<\/strong> or about 960\u20131,000 points<\/strong>, as Strait of Hormuz disruptions, attacks on oil infrastructure and Middle East supply concerns pushed crude prices higher. Natural gas was the weakest<\/strong>, remaining around $2.86\u2013$2.90\/MMBtu<\/strong>, as strong U.S. inventories and ample supply limited upside despite the Middle East energy shock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crypto:<\/strong> BNB\/USD was the strongest major cryptocurrency<\/strong>, rising from around $720.7 to $727.5<\/strong>, gaining approximately $6.8 (+0.9%)<\/strong>, or 680 pips<\/strong>, showing relative strength despite broader crypto weakness. BTC\/USD was the weakest major cryptocurrency<\/strong>, falling from around $80,343 to $77,286<\/strong>, losing approximately $3,057 (-3.8%)<\/strong> or 305,700 pips<\/strong>, pressured by higher U.S. yields, ETF outflows, stronger rate-hike expectations and selling below the $80,000 level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stocks:<\/strong> META was the strongest major stock<\/strong>, gaining approximately $33.35 (+5.41%)<\/strong>, supported by optimism surrounding its AI developments, with the stock jumping particularly strongly on September 9. NVIDIA was the weakest<\/strong>, falling around $12.07 (-5.24%)<\/strong>, as higher Treasury yields, broader technology-sector weakness and concerns over elevated AI\/semiconductor valuations weighed on the stock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indices:<\/strong> Major indices remained under pressure with the Nasdaq Composite the strongest major performer<\/strong>, falling 173.95 points (-0.66%)<\/strong> from 26,506.99 to 26,333.04<\/strong>. The Nikkei 225 was the weakest<\/strong>, losing 1,009.60 points (-1.55%)<\/strong>, as surging oil prices, higher yields and expectations for tighter monetary policy weighed on global equities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
